Maharashtra: Unseasonal rainfall damages crops; 2 farmers allegedly commit suicide

After Madhya Pradesh, it seems it is Maharashtra's turn to bear the brunt of hailstorms and unseasonal rainfall leading to widespread crop damage. So far, eight people have lost their lives and price rise is feared due to the crop damage. Officials said that standing crops in at least 40 villages are damaged.

Hailstorms in at least 16 districts of Maharashtra have severely affected thousands of hectares of Rabi crop. At least eight people have died including two farmers who have reportedly committed suicide in the last one week alone
