Putin snubbed by Poland

Putin not invited on 70th Anniversary of Auschwitz liberation by Soviet troops

Vladimir Putin won't be attending the 70th anniversary of Auschwitz liberation in Poland. Fair to say it was not officially Warsaw which issued invitations this time around, but an international committee.

Media reports claim it was the government's deliberate move in order to avoid controversy.

Putin wasn't invited despite the fact that it was the Soviet Union which liberated the death camp in 1945. Nazis murdered more than a million people there until the Red Army came.
