Earthquake cluster on Honshu


4 quakes of over M5.0 occurred around Kanto region within 3 days

4 earthquakes of over M5.0 have hit around Kanto region since 12/21/2013, according to Japan Meteorological Agency.

The first one was M5.3 to hit Southern part of Ibaraki at 01:10 JST 21 Dec 2013. The second one was M5.4 to hit offshore Chiba at 10:34 JST 21 Dec 2013.
On 12/23/2013, M5.7 and M5.8 occurred offshore Kanto region.
A new volcanic island was found in 1,000km south of Tokyo, and it’s still actively growing. (cf, New volcanic island still actively growing / Emitting the black smoke to 150 m height every 5 mins [URL])
The volcanic activity underground of Kanto area may possibly be becoming intense.
