Rise
in numbers having financial struggle
A
new report shows the number of people struggling financially has
doubled over the past two years.
The
two-yearly Quality of Life survey draws on information from 5000
people in Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch, Porirua and the Hutt
Valley.
It
shows 22% are struggling financially, which is almost double the
number from 2010.
The
Child Poverty Action group said that is a huge increase in a very
short time.
Christchurch
City Missioner Michael Gorman said the findings are not surprising
and reflect the current economic climate.
He
said housing is the most concerning area, with rent going up
astronomically.
