Weather records fall just 840 hours into 2019

Buckle up, folks: Just 840 hours into 2019 and we have had record heat, record cold, record snowfall and record rain along with a few plagues

Buckle up, folks...

We are just 35 days into 2019 and already the weather is smashing records around the globe with deadly regularity and NOAA are now claiming, 2019 may be the warmest year on record as a result of an El Nino event exacerbated by global warming.
This weekend the strongest Pacific storm of this winter season slammed California with heavy rain, significant snowfall, high winds and travel disruptions.
In Australia, I years rain, yes one year's rain in just 7 has brought 35 days of hell on Earth for some Australians after a record-breaking heatwave which saw temperatures nudge 50 deg C (122 deg F) the hottest January ever, 50,000 people were stung from two plagues of jellyfish, millions of fish died along with thousands of flying fox bats from the heat.

Temperatures above 42-degrees Celsius (108 F) was causing overcrowding on Rio beaches as temps break a 97-year-old record in Brazil.

Almost a million kids went without school, when the UK ground to a halt after the arrival of a "snow bomb" abandoned cars causing chaos on the roads.

This week after experiencing the coldest temperature ever recorded with lows colder than the Antarctic and even Mars, temperatures swung the other way 40 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, (up to 27 deg C) upward from the lowest levels amid the polar vortex invasion as the midwestern suddenly found themselves in springtime weather with the threat of flooding from the ice.

More than 2,000 cars were stranded during a snowstorm in Italy.

And what was described as a glimpse of the future, electricity grid systems, natural gas and other systems were shutting down due to extreme weather around the world at the end of January.

Insanely dangerous temperatures of -75 F -60 deg C  which was colder than the Antarctic were recorded in the US midwest and -82-deg F in Canada which is colder than Mars, due to the Polar Vortex.

In the middle of January a massive "Atmospheric River" dumped nearly 10 feet, 3 metres of snow and nearly 2 months rain in 2 days on California.

Germany and Austria had to send in the troops and tanks to rescue homeowners in Europe after a monster snowstorm.

The Great Mosque in Mecca, which hosts millions of Muslim pilgrims every year and is the holiest site in Islam was hit by a plague of locusts.

10 feet more, than 3 metres of snow, more than the whole January average along with record lows with -9F (-23C) in sunny Greece leaves central Europe in chaos.

Millions of locusts blacked out the sun in parts of Mexico devastating crops and agriculture at the beginning of January.
