Reading
the new CAMS data
For
the tiny group of people interested in following evidence.
See
the large BLUE area (and think of the psychological messaging there)
and then look at the colour chart - the new system and then the old.
The blue represents 1800 ppb which until recently was the AVERAGE.
There
is nothing much below that level. The 'average' has been turned into
'low'.

Here is the GLOBAL view at 500 hPa.
Similarly, the GREEN, which looks ever-so-normal, represents somewhere represents approximately 1900 ppb which, I believe, is the new 'average'.
How
long before the red and dark brown become the 'new average'?
I
strongly suggest you save the comparative colour code. It might save
you from getting COMPLETELY THE WRONG IDEA about the state of play
concerning methane.
It
is dire.
Q:
What is the correct number for dark brown areas?
A:
Thats a moot point. There is none. It used to be somewhere between
2040 and 75,600 ppb. Now it is somewhere between 2140 and 10,000 ppb.
We are none the wiser.
