New Zealand political scandal

Like Simon Bridges and his #forgottenforest, Judith Collins has now shown how utterly out of touch she is with the values New Zealanders hold close.

Here's the video: http://bit.ly/1sf8Ln6 ... it's not pretty.

CALL ON JOHN KEY TO SACK SIMON BRIDGES

Messages Sent

It's time for the incompetent Simon Bridges to be sacked from his position as Energy and Resources Minister. New Zealand deserves better.

Send this message to the Prime Minister John Key demanding that Simon Bridges be sacked, and the Government cancels handing over our lands and seas to risky drilling and toxic mining.

Right after the world’s top climate scientists sent a warning of climate chaos for New Zealand, Simon Bridges announced that he and the Government have opened up the biggest ever area - four million hectares - of New Zealand’s lands and waters to foreign drillers and miners.

This includes areas for deep sea drilling, and it includes New Zealand's largest forest park - the Victoria Forest Park, which is 200,000 hectares and described by the Department of Conservation as pristine. But Simon Bridges admitted he didn't even know this conservation area existed.

When questioned in Parliament about whether he understood the potential impacts of mining such an area, he dismissed it as emotive clap-trap.

These are all signs of a minister that's completely out of his depth and totally out of touch with the things that New Zealanders hold dear. And it’s more evidence that the Key Government is clumsily taking NZ down a dangerous dead end with its obsessive pursuit of new oil.

It's time to choose a clean energy future.

10.04.14 - Question 1: Dr Russel Norman to the Minister of Energy

New Zealand is not corrupt - Yeah Right! (Radio Commentary)

It is often claimed that New Zealand has low corruption, even though it is well known that the Police and Politicians are highly corrupt. The corruption spoken of here includes John Key - The Prime Minister and an other senior minister along with many senior Police Officers who did act on the requests of a minister when they should not have done so. You have to ask how many times this happens without the public finding out. New Zealand is well know for cheque book justice by the public here, but strangely it is still claimed that New Zealand does not have a problem with corruption.

If Ministers did not feel they could influence the Police they would not even approach them.

Could it be the Minister was not clear enough about the reward the Police would receive in return for lowering/dismissing the charges against this wealthy man?

The other minister mentioned, Judith Collins, is the Minister of Justice, a role that fits well in New Zealand with corruption
