US Treasury imposes fresh economic sanctions on Iran
The US waived more sanctions on Iran from their 2015 nuclear deal on Thursday. But the State Department stressed that the sanction relief is no indication of the US' stance on the deal. In a sign of Trump's desire to put pressure on Iran, which denies violating the deal, the US Treasury Thursday announced new sanctions on 11 individuals and entities accused of supporting Iranian cyber-attacks and other aggressive acts.
