Singapore-sized
iceberg breaks off in Antarctica
An
iceberg the size of Singapore has broken off from the Pine Island
Glacier in west Antarctica.
NASA
has been monitoring a crack which developed in October 2011.
Now,
just over two years on, the block of ice has broken free and started
drifting out to the Southern Ocean.
The
iceberg is estimated to be 35 kilometres by 20 kilometres.
