It is raining at the North Pole today

Large areas of ice have broken up and melted within the 80 deg N parallel






The sea ice is disappearing quickly.

This is the area we are talking about.


This is many hundreds of kilometers of now open ocean.


This will, no doubt, melt in the next week


This is to the north of Novaya Zemlya
