Methane

MEAN
GLOBAL METHANE REACHES HISTORIC LEVEL OF 1900 PPB
For the first time in human history, mean global methane levels as high as 1900 ppb have been recorded. The measurements were recorded by the MetOp-1 satellite on the morning of August 22, 2018, at 307 mb and 321 mb.

It
just keeps going UP!
That
shithead Trump is accelerating the death of most of humanity.
Remember,
Methane is nearly 200 times more powerful than CO2 at Global Heating.
There are approximately 2 parts per million of Methane in the
atmosphere.
2
times 200 equals 400. That means that we are dealing with Global
Heating from Methane that is the equivalent to 400 times the Global
Heating Capacity of CO2.
Add
them together and you have the equivalent of 800 ppm CO2. No wonder
the Arctic is melting so fast. Ditto for the Antarctic. WHAT A MESS
WE HAVE CREATED!
We
are coming to the End.
Not the math I am used to seeing. 410 for CO2 and 40 or 50 CO2[Equivalent] for methane and you are looking at a CO2[E] of 450 or 460. Factor in the 10 year lag time for CO2 and a very probable more faster rate of increase for methane (which has no lag time) - this would still cause even faster change than we have seen in the last two decades.
ReplyDeleteThe situation is still a situation where the models, even the models which incorporate the most positive feedback loops, can not and will not be able to deal with the rate and intensity of change that will occur.
Myself, I realized I had been saying to myself that we have less than 10 years for 3 years. That was 3 years ago. I would find it very difficult to believe there will be humans left in 7 years from now.
I do try to live a life of excellence and a life of service. I do like this blog. peace out.
