Campfire
Chats with Margo - Live Call-In Show Today
@ 5 pm Pacific - 8/23/18
We are watching the Arctic ice deteriorate, day-by-day.
Here
is the latest campfire chat with Margo. There is quite a bit to get
through and there is quite a bit of AWFUL interference but inbetween
some real gems, including a description of the potential of nuclear power
plants to melt down from someone who has worked in the industry.
There is also an important message from Dean Walker
who talks about the trauma that people are feeling across the board,
especially those who are at the forefront of looking at these rapid
changes.
Here is Dean's interview with Margo from last week:

Last,
but not least, Margo provides another update of the Arctic ice and
demonstrates the need to look at this on a day-by-day basis using breaks
in the considerable cloudcover to get a picture of what is really
happening
If you have limited time here is some of the material.
Significantly, there is very significant disappearance of thick, multi-year ice, not only from the north of Greenland and the northern tip of Canada but also from the inlets which have provided a haven for the thick ice that has been blown into its last refuge.
You can see this here.
First a general picture of the region. The area we are talking about is in the center-bottom area of the photo.
And zooming in, first further north and then a little to the south.
This captures the changes in ice thickness over the last 12 months
Finally this brief video shows clearly the deterioration of the ice near the North Pole. This is a large area where we can see clearly because of the lack of cloud.
