This is a follow-up to yesterday’s post A focus on Myanmar
and the Rohingya crisis, which is just as much a way for
me to come to speed on this.

I suggest you watch Jhn Pilger’s documentary from 1996 before listening to the discussion between Patrick Henningsen and Gearóid Ó Colmáin

21st Century Wire

This week the SUNDAY WIRE is broadcasting LIVE from Southwest England with host Patrick Henningsen joined in studio by co-host Mike Robinson editor of the UK Column to cover the biggest international stories this week.

In the first hour, Patrick will be joined by writer and global affairs analyst, Gearóid Ó Colmáin, to try and separate fact from fiction around the current crisis in Myanmar (Burma) where the western media are currently promoting the story of oppression against the country’s Muslim minority Rohingya peoples, and a subsequent migrant crisis which is spilling over into neighboring Bangladesh – threatening to destabilize the region.

In the second hour, we connect with 21WIRE associate editor Vanessa Beeley, to talk about one year ago when a US airstrike killed more than 80 Syrian soldiers near Deir ez-Zor, and also new developments around cult of the White Helmets. We’ll also look at an under-reported story – about Syria. second Islamic State, the Idlib province in northern Syria which is home to al Qaeda and its various affiliates.

We’ll also try and visit with odds-maker and political pundit Basil Valentine for a look at Israel’s secret plan to annex the West Bank, the latest installment of terror on the tube the Parsons Green ‘Bucket Bomb, and the uncomfortable Royal rivalry between the Queen and Prince Charles swamp on the other side of the Atlantic, as pond life begins migrating back to Westminster marking the end of the summer season. Enjoy the show…
