Weekend viewing - watch Pilger's doc now

The Coming War on China - John Pilger FULL DOCUMENTARY

The Coming War on China is John Pilger's 60th film for ITV. Pilger reveals what the news doesn't - that the world's greatest military power, the United States, and the world's second economic power, China, both nuclear-armed, are on the road to war. Pilger's film is a warning and an inspiring story of resistance

  1. I had enough appetite to watch the first and last 10 minutes of this program, so I don't know if the economic questions were answered.

Anyway, I would guess that the saber rattlers and politicians don't shop at Wal-Mart. If they did, they would learn something that the lower 99% clearly understands. That is that almost all of the goods that the peasantry survives on come from China. If we were to actually go to war with China, the shelves of the stores across the nation would be bare within days. They would not be restocked again anytime soon - if ever. Chaos ensues and the great USA experiment ends.

I find the whole war with China scenario improbable at best. We are completely addicted to their manufacturing output and our economy would collapse immediately and completely without it.

I think that it is just another scheme to keep the peasants frightened, which seems to be a major industry (one of the few) in the USA.

PS Those disputed Pacific islands look like they will be underwater due to sea level rise in a few years anyway.
