Remains of US troops dumped in landfill

At first  I thought this video from Press TV was just Iranian propaganda, so I checked and found this article (one amongst several) from the Telegraph.
Remains of US troops dumped in landfill 'greater than originally acknowledged'
The number of US troops whose remains were dumped in a landfill by the US military is significantly greater than originally acknowledged, published records show.

8 December, 2011

The incinerated partial remains of at least 274 troops were sent to a Virginia landfill, according to records seen by The Washington Post.

The report was based on database information at the Dover Air Base mortuary, where the remains of most of America's war dead are returned.

The families of the dead authorised the military to dispose of the remains respectfully and with dignity but were unaware of the landfill dumping, and Air Force officials told the newspaper they have no plans now to alert the families.

Here is the Press TV coverage
