Weather
Situation
A
deep low pressure system and associated cold front are situated over
the Bight. Northerly winds are expected to strengthen today ahead of
the front which will move into western Victoria later this evening.
DAMAGING
WINDS of 50 to 60 km/h with gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are forecast to
develop across parts of the Southwest district Sunday afternoon and
extend to parts of the North Central, North East, South West,
Central, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast
districts this afternoon and evening, then continue across southern
and mountain areas on Monday. Damaging winds are most likely over
elevated areas with peak gusts of 110km/h possible about Alpine areas
on Sunday night.
The
State Emergency Service advises that people should:
Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.

Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
Keep clear of fallen power lines.
