At Least 15 Dead Amid Heavy Rains in Sao Paulo Area
At least 15 people died and dozens were injured amid a heavy rainstorm in Brazil’s Sao Paulo metropolitan region, El Universal reports citing officials.

CITY (Sputnik) – Four people, including a child, were killed in the
Mairipora municipality where a landslide occurred on Thursday night,
the newspaper said on Friday.
In
Francisco Morato, a suburban city in the metropolitan region of Sao
Paulo, nine people were killed by a landslide.
Two
people drowned in the city of Guarulhos.
According
to some Brazilian media, local rescue services report at least 18
deaths amid the rainstorm which has affected a total of twenty cities
in the Sao Paulo metropolitan area.
The
Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport temporarily suspended
operations and several train stations stopped their activities,
according to El Universal.
