Australia and the el-Nino

*** CLIMATE TALK - THE PLANET IS CURRENLY AT BOILING POINT OFF THE BACK OF THE SUPER 2015-16 EL NINO ***

Comparing sea surface temps anomalies now to the exact same stage in 1998 on the back of the strong 1997-98 El Nino! Have a look at the difference!

Check out all the extra warmer water across the planet at the moment! Including north of Australia, off the south east coast of Australia and the Indian ocean!

Something has to give, we expect extraordinary weather over the next 6 to 12 months globally with all this heat released from this El Nino including Australia.

What does this mean? In Australia in particular this could result extraordinary rainfall over the next 6-12 months and possibly longer especially if a La Nina gets going in the Pacific during next spring and summer.

We don't usually make big calls like this but we are in unprecedented territory at the moment and when there is so much warm water around eventually something will have to give.

More to come over the coming weeks..
