Signs of blue water and cracking ice are appearing as the sun returns to the Arctic

You may have to mentally turn either the map or the images upside down to get an orientation.




The Bering Sea is practically ice-free and is 2nd lowest


Meanwhile this is the Beaufort Sea above Alaska - today

To understand this, look at the temperature anomalies in the region
