Refueling the Columbia Generating Station
An
active nuclear power plant in Washington state is being refueled.
Washington’s
Columbia Generating Station, or C.G.S will be refueled using raw
radioactive material.
The
Environmental Protection Agency says that radiation levels in the
area will increase significantly, but that the equipment used to
measure that radiation will be completely shut down during the
refueling process.
KBOO’s

the plant’s current problems and the future of nuclear power in
Oregon and Washington.
