"In
the annals of international diplomacy, NOTHING, I repeat, nothing is
bound to upstage the moment Trump pulled an iPad and showed Kim the
trailer of his straight-to-video 1980s action B movie casting Kim and
himself as heroes destined to save the world's 7 billion people."

Trump
shows Kim Jong-un bizarre four-minute-long video designed as
inspirational film trailer
Film
offered Kim chance to 'remake history'
12 June, 2018
Donald Trump has revealed
he showed Kim Jung-un a four-minute Hollywood-style video when
pitching the idea of peace to the North Korean leader.
Just before speaking at a
press conference after their meeting in Singapore, the video was
played to the media in both Korean and English.
“That was a tape that
we gave to Chairman Kim and his people, and it captures a lot,
captures what could be done," said Mr Trump. "And that’s
a great place, has the potential to be an incredible place between
South Korea, if you think about it, and China.
"It’s got
tremendous potential and I think he understands that and he wants to
do what’s right.”
The film was credited to
"Destiny Productions", and contained a variety of stock
footage of the two countries and both leaders, as if framing them
both as characters in a blockbuster.
It offers Kim Jung-un the
opportunity to "remake history", ending with a title frame
saying: "The future remains to be written".
