Were New Zealand a functional democracy these revelations (and those of dirty politics before that) would been a national scandal and Slater would be looking at jail time for his illegal activities.
Instead of that this is bound to go the way of everything before that and be swept under the carpet and the police will decide there is 'no evidence'
The reality is that the police (and I wouldn't mind betting, the judiciary) is compromised.

Right-wing blogger accused of paying off hacker
Right-wing blogger Cameron Slater has been accused of paying a man to hack into an opposition website for political gain.
The controversial and outspoken political commentator denies the claims, but police have reportedly confirmed they are investigating the allegations made by Ben Rachinger.
So
let’s get this straight – Cameron Slater makes a complaint to the
NZ Police that his emails were hacked and stolen on August 28th 2014.
By October 2nd 2014, the NZ Police had 5 Officers search Nicky
Hager’s house for 10 hours. That’s 36 days.
Nicky
is an investigative journalist and computers seized have information
on police corruption that Nicky is next investigating.
Compare
that to Ben Rachinger who has made a complaint to Police with
evidence showing Slater allegedly paying Rachinger over $9000 for
black ops information and plotting a cyber crime to hack into a
Labour Party blog.
That
allegation has taken over 3 months for Police to do anything and the
Police say it will be months before anything might be done.
Ummmmmm.
WTF?
Slater,
who has been outed for dirty politics getS his complaint against an
investigative reporter actioned within 36 days that sees that
investigative reporter’s house searched and evidence of police
corruption seized, yet a complaint where evidence is available that
clearly suggests a crime being plotted and paid for and it’s taken
3 months with no end in sight?
In
other countries this is called outright political corruption of the
Police force. In NZ it will probably get ignored.
We
should get Native Affairs or Campbell Live to focus on this –
oh wait.
I
hope the irony of Campbell Live being replaced with 90 minutes of
back to back police propaganda isn’t lost on anyone.

key is removing everyone who speaks out...but john campbell did refuse to cover a story of the bodysnatchers of james takamore who were running simutanious court cases both in the supreme court re jt and the family court re custody battle of widowed dads toddler daughter...john key and john campbell both knew the bodysnatchers of jt had shafted a widower and daughter with alot of help of their treaty of waitangi board member/fc lawyer barbara collis of kutarere...its every parents nightmare to have their children stolen for christmas day in the name of culture...so im guessing both johns really couldnt care less about the safety and well being of parents and children by letting a paedophile steal children for christmas's...what makes this even more disturbing is that john key had blocked and threatened me for asking for help...just goes to show what his real intentions are...our prime sinister peddles children to paedophiles and expects total secrecy immunity and supression...judge emma smith stated to stay away from the media cuz she too is into peddling children to undesirables...most of nz doesnt even know that that goes on in new zealand, but the media are totally covering it up...it got so corrupt i made a video about it to let people know whats really going on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4T1LTXOaHc&list=UUpFLGzCi5kGwfbwqItvsRSQ
