It is just one of those days when one is confronted with the ugly side of human nature
As humanity hurtles towards the collapse of civilisation and its own extinction humans are acting in very strange ways and the veneer of tolerance and reasonableness is being torn away and what is being revealed is very ugly.
Here are just a few examples.

Tennessee House votes Bible as official state book
The
Holy Bible is the official book of Tennessee in the view of the
Tennessee House of Representatives.
Despite
questions of constitutionality, lawmakers beat back an attempt to
make Andrew Jackson's Bible the official book and voted 55-38 in
favor of Rep. Jerry Sexton's original bill.
Rick Santorum: Separation Of Church And State A Communist Idea, Not An American One
In
a conference call with members of right-wing pastor E.W. Jackson’s
STAND America that was posted online today, former senator Rick
Santorum disputed the existence of the separation of church and state
in the U.S. Constitution, dismissing it as a Communist idea that has
no place in America.

Mentally ill should wear wristbands, Tory candidate says, provoking outrage
A
Conservative Party candidate has caused a furor for “harmfully”
suggesting mentally ill people should wear wristbands to identify
their condition.
Cambridge
Tory candidate Chamali Fernando was speaking at a hustings event on
Monday when she made the “outraging” statements.
Fernando
said the wristbands, labeled with the person’s condition, would be
helpful to police and legal professionals to understand the behavior
of someone who is unable to explain themselves.
A
transcript of the hustings, released by Cambridge News, reveals the
32-year-old barrister said, “I’m not trained to deal with people
in those situations. I would like to see more training for legal
professionals and police officers.
“Maybe
it’s something as simple as there are certain conditions which are
more common, where people can wear a wristband to identify they have
that condition, so we can perhaps not diagnose, but spot it earlier
and ensure that we deal with it.”....
New Bill Would Have Teachers Diagnose Psychological Issues in Children and Report them to Police
Texas
State Representative Jason Villalba (R-Dallas) is once again in the
spotlight after submitting yet another Orwellian
proposal, H.B. 985.
Villalba
first raised the ire of civil libertarians by proposing a bill, H.B.
2006, which would have eliminated the religious exemption for
vaccination, essentially creating a forced government vaccination
program without exception.
More
recently, Villalba was thrust
into the national spotlight when he proposed H.B. 2918,
which would usurp citizens of the ability to hold law enforcement
accountable for their actions. The bill would negate the people’s
ability to create an accurate and impartial record of police
interactions by restricting citizens from filming within 25 feet of
an officer.
Now
with H.B. 985, Villalba intends to give school officials the
authority to force psychological screenings of students that teachers
and staff diagnose as having mental health issues.
NZ Govt will pay to shift mentally ill into work
Mentally
ill people will be moved off state-funded benefits and into work
using private employment agencies who will earn hefty fees for the
service.
The
Herald on Sunday has obtained leaked Ministry of Social Development
documents detailing plans to get people suffering from depression,
stress and anxiety disorders into paid work.
Shopping with cash is now illegal in Lousiana
With
the passage of House Bill 195 into law, the State of Louisiana
has banned
the use of cash in all transactions involving second-hand goods.
State representative Ricky Hardy, a co-author of the bill, claims
that the bill targets criminals who traffic in stolen goods.
According to Hardy, “It’s a mechanism to be used so the police
department has something to go on and have a lead.” The bill
prohibits cash transactions by “second-hand dealers,” defined to
include garage sales, flea markets, resellers of specialty items, and
even non-profit resellers like Goodwill.
Gary Cass: Satan Using 'Gay Abortionists' To 'Attack Humanity'
A
few months ago, Gary Cass of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission
began producing a regular "Defending a Christian Worldview"
webcast in which he weighs in on issues that have been in the news in
the previous week.
On
the most recent installment, Cass explained that gay marriage and
abortion are both satanic attacks on the image of God and His command
to "be fruitful and multiply."
Warning
that "gay abortionists" are out to "destroy the fruit
of heterosexuality," Cass declared that Satan uses both abortion
and gay marriage to "attack humanity at the core of their
essence where the image of God resides, to destroy them sexually, to
destroy the fruit of their womb."
"If
you're Satan, that makes perfect sense," he said. "It's all
an attack on the image of God":
Pat Robertson: Gays Will Force Christians To Like Anal Sex And, Eventually, Polyamory And Bestiality
Right-wingwing
televangelist Pat Robertson tackled the recent controversy over
Memories Pizza, which became Indiana's
first business to publicly
declare that
they won't cater to same-sex weddings in the wake of the
state's Religious
Freedom Restoration Act this week.
"Most
gays, if they're having a wedding, don't want pizzas -- they want
cake," Robertson told "700 Club" viewers, according to
Right Wing Watch. "It's the
cake-makers that
are having a problem."
Still,
he warned Christian business owners of all types that gay customers
will eventually "make you conform to them."
"You're
gonna say that you like anal sex,
you like oral sex, you like bestiality," he added. "Sooner
or later, you're going to have to conform your religious beliefs to
the group of some abhorrent thing. It won't stop at homosexuality."
Noting
that Christian beliefs will "come under assault" until
polyamory and polygamy are acceptable, too, Robertson lamented, "It's
a weird world we're living in."
The
comments aren't too surprising, particularly given Robertson's recent
history of anti-gay sentiments.
In Febuary, he argued that a Washington state judge's ruling that a
florist had discriminated against a gay couple by
refusing to provide flowers for their wedding was
also indicative of society's eventual embrace of bestiality.
He
asked, “To tell a florist that she’s got to provide flowers for a
particular kind of wedding? What
if somebody wanted to marry his dog? She’s
got to have flowers for that?"
A
D.C-based law firm will file suit and pursue “all legal remedies”
to protect the rights of the Maryland parents whose two young
children were taken into custody for more than five hours Sunday
after someone reported them as they made their way home unsupervised
from a Silver Spring park, the firm said Tuesday.
Danielle
and Alexander Meitiv were “rightfully outraged by the irresponsible
actions” of Maryland Child Protective Services and Montgomery
County police, said attorney Matthew Dowd, of the firm Wiley Rein, in
a written statement.
While
most people visit the Grand Canyon to experience one of the natural
wonders of the world, visitors may soon be surprised to find a $1
billion entertainment complex, which will include an IMAX theater,
mall and restaurants, inside of the East Rim of the canyon.
Developers are working on plans to build the mega complex, called the
Grand Canyon Escalade, in the canyon with the help of the Navajo
Nation.
NBC
News reports that a developer group called Confluence Partners wants
to create a place for the more than 5 million annual Grand Canyon
visitors to converge on the East Rim of the park. A new 420-acre
attraction costing $1 billion is in the planning phase which would
provide tourists a variety of amenities within the canyon itself.
e
project is planned to be built on land owned by the Navajo Nation as
they took over leasing rights from the Bureau of Indian Affairs. This
means that the Federal Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Federal
National Parks will have no say in the construction of the project.
Instead, the Navajo Nation will give final approval on whether or not
the project can be built inside one of America’s most well-known
natural wonders.
