A
New Zealand journalist has reportedly been beaten in Ukraine.
Jared
Morgan is in hospital with concussion after being beaten near where
he lives in Kiev, according to local media reports.
Morgan
said he was attacked by three men who might have been refugees from
eastern Ukraine and "disliked his pro-Ukrainian views",
journalist Andre Alexin said on Facebook on Saturday.
Alexin
said Morgan would have to spend a couple of weeks in hospital and
encouraged people to visit him in the neurosurgery ward.
News
website Telekritika said Morgan has lived in Kiev since 2011.
He
is a former Southland Times reporter and won the Qantas Media Award
for best junior feature writer in 2007.

Kiev activists beat up a journalist from New Zealand - Jared Morgan,
who lives in Kiev in 2011 and works as a freelance.
On the attack,
said a friend of the victim Andrew Aleksin.
He himself wrote:"
We heard that said in English on the phone, came to ask that I forgot
in Ukraine. Replied that he loves this country, and so proud of
Maidan. D., And heard: "Oh, no ... with the Bandera!" Then
remember bad. Woke up at night, "- says Aleksin.
According to
him, the attack took place at eight o'clock next to the house where
he lives Morgan.
Three young men did not like pro-Ukrainian views
