ReplyDeleteIt is critically ( pardon the pun) important to discuss nuclear in the context of our climate change disaster.
The nuclear nutcases struggle to keep the proverbial lid on the reactors on a good normal day and when something/ anything goes wrong weather wise they struggle to keep their bombs cool. There have already been instances of jellyfish 'blooms' blocking water intakes, it is only a matter of time now before abrupt climate change nukes a nuke. It sickens me as we try to mitigate our carbon emissions
that pro nukers like Bill McKibben are supporting a technology that Albert Einstein foretold would be the end of us. Personally I believe climate change will wipe out most of us and nuclear will mop up the stragglers and nuclear will dominate the next iteration of life on the formerly blue planet. Great climate change update from Guy as usual especially the scale of the latent heat from carbon and thx for pointing out how the oceans have absorbed most of the heat we defecate into the atmosphere.
Naturally I am mortified at the intimidation of someone in our circle of friends involved in spreading Guy's message but sadly I am far from surprised. As collapse creeps ever nearer us activists will have a laser target on our heads, more reason to live in the now.
Guy mentions the faux pause in the heating of our planet that was seized upon by the deniers. This is Michael E. Mann's rebuttal of that in one of my FB notes.
