The House of Windsor's historical ties with nazism

Prince Phillip: The Almost Nazi?

One of the not-so-well kept secrets in British society is the vastly close relations between The House of Windsor, Adolph Hitler, and The Nazi Party.  According to bibliotecapleyades.net:
One of the biggest public relations hoaxes ever perpetrated by the British Crown, is that King Edward VIII, who abdicated the throne in 1938, due to his support for the Nazis, was a “black sheep,” an aberration in an otherwise unblemished Windsor line. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The British monarchy, and the City of London’s leading Crown bankers, enthusiastically backed Hitler and the Nazis, bankrolled the Führer’s election, and did everything possible to build the Nazi war machine, for Britain’s planned geopolitical war between Germany and Russia.” [1]
Queen Elizabeth’s father, George VI, had a vast secret operation carried out in 1945 by a secret spy by the name of Anthony Blunt.  His mission?  To hunt down any documents about the young Prince Phillip’s family connections to the Nazi party. [2]

Could you imagine if Kate Middleton’s father was a relative of Saddam Hussein?

This would have been worse.  According to a 2008 article from The Express, “Blunt’s researches proved that the Prince did have German relatives who were avowed Nazis before and during the war – revelations that troubled many in Britain at the time and could have proved a severe impediment to a royal marriage.
The sinister Nazi connections come from three of the Prince’s four sisters – Sophie, Cecile and Margarita. All had married German princes, three of whom became leading Nazis.
Prince Philip, whose family name is Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, even attended the funeral in Nazi Germany of his elder sister Cecile as a 16-year-old schoolboy in 1937. He was pictured flanked by other relatives who were dressed in SS and Brownshirt uniforms.

Philip was born in Corfu in 1921. His parents, Prince and Princess Andrew of Greece, fled the country after being sentenced to death by a revolutionary court.

Philip ended up in England and his education was paid for by his doting aunt, the Marchioness of Milford Haven. After attending Dartmouth Naval College, he acquitted himself with distinction as a Royal Navy officer during the Second World War.
Meanwhile in Germany, Hitler had won power in 1933 and made cunning efforts to attract the German aristocracy to the Nazi cause. Two princes in particular – Philipp of Hesse and his brother Christoph, great-grandsons of Queen Victoria – had drifted easily into Nazism. The Hessen brothers were willing to make great moral compromises, particularly in regard to the Jews and the Holocaust.” [2]
So, it is easily understandable why the crown wanted this (and to this day continues to want it) buried.  In May of 2014, a Kremlin commentator brought Putin, the Queen and Prince Phillip into a feud with some unsavory comments regarding their Nazi connections.
A later article from Tbe Express said of the conflict: “A sarcastic broadcast by Anissa Naouai, a top political correspondent on Moscow-funded TV channel Russia Today, kept the controversy rumbling on.
Refusing to move on from the row sparked when Charles compared President Putin to Adolf Hitler, she presented viewers with a mock family tree connecting Buckingham Palace to the Nazis.
Miss Naouai pointed out that Edward VIII and his wife Wallis Simpson had friends among Hitler’s high command and met the Fuhrer himself.
She added that Prince Philip’s sister Sophie married into the Third Reich and mentioned how Prince Harry dressed in a Nazi uniform for a fancy dress party.
The New York-born but Moscow-based journalist added: “If anyone knows real Nazis, it’s the Royal Family.” [3]

Britain's Nazi King

Was a member of the British royal family in cahoots with the Nazis?

Recently declassified FBI files expose a surprising twist in the legacy of Edward VIII. In 1941, President Roosevelt had the Duke of Windsor investigated for suspicion of sympathizing with Nazi Germany.

What the investigation found was an astonishing plot to put Edward VIII on Britain's throne as Hitlers Nazi puppet.

Under different circumstances, could this relationship have changed history as we know it?
