Prime Minister Admits End Of The World Is Coming
The
end of the world may be approaching according to some, but Prime
Minister Julia Gillard is relieved that at least she won't have to
appear on ABC's Q&A again.

Ms
Gillard has recorded a short video for Triple J's breakfast show, as
part of their ''end of the world'' celebrations. The world is
supposed to end on December 21, according to interpretations of the
Mayan calendar.
''My
dear remaining fellow Australians,'' Ms Gillard begins in the clip.
''The end of the world is coming. It wasn't Y2K, it wasn't even the
carbon price.''
The
Prime Minister took time out from her preparations for Friday's COAG
standoff to film the clip in Melbourne on Tuesday.
The
jokes were a joint effort between the radio station and Ms Gillard,
thus explaining the mix of pop culture references and political spin.
''Whether
the final blow comes from flesh eating zombies, demonic hell beasts
or from the total triumph of K-pop, if you know one thing about me it
is this: I will always fight for you to the very end,'' Ms Gillard
says in solemn tones.
Finishing
the video, the Prime Minister observes: ''At least this means I won't
have to do Q&A again.''
It
is understood Ms Gillard only needed three quick takes to film the
clip - a far cry from her predecessor's infamous problems with the
recording process.
