A strong earthquake measuring 5.0 magnitudes on the Richter scale has struck Japan’s north-eastern island of Honshu, the national meteorological agency reports.
The epicenter
was located off the Fukushima prefecture in the Pacific Ocean at the
depth of 50km. The ensuing tremor was felt by the country’s 13th
and 47th prefectures, including Tokyo.
The agency
issued a tsunami warning, only to withdraw it several minutes later.
