Occupy Oakland general strike

Here are comments from Mike Ruppert:

"It appears that most people wanted a respite from the tension. And the complete stand down by the city of Oakland in the wake of last week's carnage has done a lot to mollify a just awakening general public's sense of outrage. It may have been premature to call a General Strike and expect dramatic results. But the contest is far from over and the Occupy Movement far from finished. Pressures are still mounting. In Santa Rosa there is a new city council motion to evict Occupy Santa Rosa next week. I'm going to the council meeting to testify.

We are not leaving. Nobody's leaving". -- MCR

Occupy Oakland general strike – live
Thousands of workers are expected to support the 'Occupy Oakland' movement with an attempt to shut down the city

Thousands of people have been marching in Oakland, California, where an attempt by police to break up an "Occupy" camp a week ago led to Iraq veteran Scott Olsen suffering a serious head injury.
The day has so far passed off with good humour and without trouble. But the protesters' desire to "shut down" the city with a general strike appear not to have materialised.
