View
from Brussels: 'Never call EU anti-democratic again'
Brussels
reacted with exasperation and bewilderment. After the Supreme Court
ruling, European Parliament Brexit coordinator Guy Verhofstadt said:
"I never want to hear Boris Johnson or any other Brexiteer say
again that the European Union is undemocratic." Another senior
official sent a rolling eyes emoji when asked for their reaction.
Brussels Correspondent James Crisp explains how senior EU figures
have responded to the ruling in public - and behind the scenes. For

In
a poll that saw 16,413 take part, 86 percent of participants
expressed outrage at the ruling that threw Mr Johnson’s Brexit
plans into the unknown yet again. Express.co.uk readers were asked
the question: “Was the Supreme Court right to rule the Government’s
prorogation was unlawful?” A total of 14,086 readers disagreed with
the ruling, while just 13 percent said they did agree the court was
right to declare Mr Johnson’s actions illegal, a total of 2,139
people.
