New Zealand's ongoing heatwave

The headlines have long since stopped talking about a heatwave but the reality remains the same.

Lower Hutt is sweltering for the FIFTH month

This is what my thermometer in the kitchen says.


For once it tallies,more or less with the official figures
It is the 3rd day of autumn in New Zealand and yet we are seeing these temperatures day-after-day, week-after-week since November when water restrictions were announced and the grass started to dry off.

This is the FIFTH month of such weather - without a letup.

To give you an idea here are statistics for the NORMAL. The average HIGH temperature for this time of years is 20 degrees Celsius.
