NZ government debt has passed $50 billion

The information that net government debt has passed $50 billion is both true and seemingly secret.
Not only has this not been made public through mainstream, corporate media but it is not even that easy to source the information.
Have a look for yourself.
Plainly this is NOT something that the public is supposed to know.

Nats’ debt pile hits $50b

21 February, 2012

For the first time in history, net government debt has passed $50 billion. New Zealand’s net international liabilities, the amount New Zealand owes the rest of the world, is also skyrocketing: $140 billion now, $197 billion in 2016. John Key used to say we had a growth problem, not a debt problem. With GDP per capita down 2% under National, we now have both.

Note: I have tried unsuccessfully to source this; if you you google Financial statements of the govenment of New Zealand’ you will find the document this information is buried in

and here is the item that alerted me to this - Vinny Eastwood MR NEWS.
