HEAT RECORD BROKEN: HOTTEST JUNE 22 IN NETHERLANDS EVER

At
11:20 a.m. thermometers in Arcen, Limburg read 32.2 degrees Celsius,
thereby making today the hottest June 22nd ever measured in the
Netherlands. This is the 9th heat record broken in the country so far
this year and the third one this month, according to Weeronline.
February
15th, March 30th and 31st, May 27th and 29th and June 15th and 21st
also broke heat records.
Today
is exceptionally hot in the Netherlands, especially in the southeast
with maximums ranging between 33 and 35 degrees. Some places may even
hit 36 degrees Celsius.
Friday
is also expected to be summery, with cooler weather following over
the weekend. Friday will be cloudy with some rain and maximum
temperatures ranging from 20 degrees on the Wadden to 27 degrees in
the southeast. Saturday and Sunday will also be cloudy, with more
chance of rain, and afternoon temperatures between 18 and 22 degrees,
according to the weather service.
