After
an airstrike on a Turkish army command staff in the Syrian province
of Idlib on Thursday evening, an unspecified government official now
declared that Turkey can no longer stop the flow of refugees and will
therefore let him move on.
At
the security meeting urgently called by Turkish President Recep
Tayyip Erdoğan, it was apparently decided to open the borders to the
European Union for Syrian refugees for at least 72 hours. As a senior
Turkish government official told Reuters, the police, border guards
and coast guard were instructed to let the people go.
The
Turkish newspaper Hürriyet also reports on this order and other
government-related journalists such as Ragip Soylu.
