"France is at war"

Although in an ideal world we would have expected a Grand Alliance against the threat of ISIS and international terrorism it was clear that nothing was going to change.

Perhaps the most apt comment is the French expression

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

"The more things change the more they stay the same"

Dear friends,

While it is way too early to come to any conclusions about what really happened in Paris, I want to share the following thought with you: President Hollande has just declared that what took place was an act of war. This, in turn, means that the entire NATO alliance could be called in to respond to this (under Article 5). As for the attackers, already one Syrian passport was found, and witnesses say that one of them screamed “for Syria” before opening fire. In other words, this attack has just given NATO a pretext to intervene in Syria. Last, but not least, the only French aircraft carrier was schedule to leave its port this Wednesday. For the Middle-East, precisely.

Coincidences?

You tell me.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls: France in War With Terrorists
Prime Minister Manuel Valls stated Saturday that France is in the state of war with terrorists.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said Saturday during his interview to TF1 television that France will continue airstrikes in Syria.

Nous sommes en guerre. Nous prenons donc des mesures exceptionnelles. Et cette guerre, nous la gagnerons.

He also added that France is currently in the state of war with terrorists and must be ready for new attacks. There is no such a term as a zero risk in this situation, he stated.

Speaking about the upcoming regional elections Prime Minister noted that they will be held according to the schedule, on 6 and 13 of December.

"I understand that French people can be intimidated but we have to stay strong and refer to our values," said Valls.

Je comprends que les Français puissent avoir peur, mais nous devons être forts et faire face avec nos valeurs.

There's a military-industrial complex that has to be supported. The faux- "war against Terror" is simply insufficient. The targets will remain the same
