Russian
airstrikes kill 2 ISIS commanders, 300 militants – Defense Ministry
RT,

October, 2015
Russian
air forces carried out 67 sorties, striking 60 separate targets in
northern Syria in the past 24 hours, the Defense Ministry has
reported. Two senior Islamic State field commanders are reportedly
among some 300 militants killed in the strikes.
“Among
the targets are the communication hubs, command posts, fuel stores
and terrorist training bases located located in Raqqa, Latakia,
Idlip, Aleppo and Hama,” said
deputy chief of staff Lieutenant-General Igor Makushev, in a Moscow
media briefing.
Makushev
said that drone footage verified that a precision hit destroyed the
headquarters of Liwa-al-Haqq, an Islamist group, which has been
fighting the government of Bashar Assad since 2012. Russia said that
a radio intercept confirmed the deaths of 200 fighters, and two
commanders, who Makushev said belonged to Islamic State.
Another
100 Islamists were killed in an airstrike near Aleppo, in which
Russian Sukhoi jets destroyed a base and armaments store housed in a
former prison.
In
total the airstrikes destroyed six communication hubs, six armories,
17 training bases and 17 armored vehicles, the Russian official said.
“The
militants are sustaining significant losses from the airstrikes, and
are having to adjust their tactics, spreading out over a wider area,
concealing themselves more thoroughly, or hiding in urban
settlements,” Makushev
said.
“In
these conditions, the Russian air forces are continuing and
intensifying their airstrikes.”
Russian
air forces have carried out airstrikes from a specially-built base
outside the government-controlled stronghold of Latakia since
September 30, at the behest of Bashar Assad. About 2,000 Russian
personnel have been deployed in the country, but Moscow says it has
no plans to use ground forces in the fight against militants.
The Russians are taking no prisoners and are certainly not waiting for the West’s help.
Syria’s Ambassador to Russia, Riad Haddad, has confirmed that Russian airstrikes have managed to destroy around 40% of the Islamic State’s infrastructure in just one week.
Haddad said that, “according to our data, about 40 percent was destroyed. In addition, a lot of terrorists have been killed. Now, they are retreating toward the Turkish border, as this country has traditionally provided them with protection.“
Many reports emerged just 72 hours after the start of the Russian campaign that many terrorists were already on the run and in complete disarray. Russia has been unafraid to pursue a policy of eradication when it comes to dealing with the destabilizing terroristic forces in Syria, and cruise missiles have quite literally caused a terror exodus.

For a year the West claimed to be fighting ISIS and many Western leaders have denounced the group’s activities. Yet, that rhetoric has not been backed up with any substantial action. The year-long Western bombing campaign has been totally ineffective at doing anything other than lining the pockets of executives in the military industrial complex.
Russia has now even openly denounced Western refusals to assist their campaign, asking whose side is the West really on? Perhaps, the West truly does not have any intel on ISIS because they have been too busy trying to remove Assad.
Over
1,000 ISIS and Al Nusra Militants Surrender To Syrian Army In Last 24
Hours
9
October, 2015
The
development came after President Bashar al-Assad in a televised
address in July pardoned all soldiers who have fled the army, saying
that his words served as a general decree to relevant officials.
Hundreds
of gunmen have been laying down their weapons and turning themselves
in to authorities in areas across the country.
This
number seems to be on the rise as the army has been making steady
gains in the battlefield against the terrorist groups, recapturing an
increasing number of regions, including strategic sites, which helped
cut off many of the militants’ supply routes and forced them to
surrender or run way.
Also
in the past 24 hours, the Syrian air raids destroyed concentration
centers of the ISIL, al-Nusra Front and other terrorist groups in
Hama and Idlib.
The
Syrian warplanes conducted airstrikes against positions of ISIL and
the so-called Jeish al-Fath terrorists in the countryside of Hama and
Idlib.
The
airstrikes hit positions of the ISIL terrorists in al-Rahjan village,
50 km to the Northeast of Hama City, destroying a number of
terrorists’ vehicles with all arms, ammunition and equipment on
board.
The
airstrikes also hit positions of al-Nusra Front and other terrorist
groups in Aqrab village in the Southwestern countryside of Hama,
killing scores of terrorists.
A
number of vehicles belonging to Jeish al-Fath terrorists were also
destroyed in airstrikes in Abdin village in the countryside of
Ma’aret al-Nu’aman in Idlib countryside.
Meantime,
the Syrian fighter jets pounded hideouts of the Takfiri militants in
the countryside of Homs.
The
Syrian air raids destroyed Takfiri terrorists’ hideouts and
vehicles in al-Qaryatain, al-Sa’an, and in the vicinity of
al-Sha’er field in Homs countryside.
The
Russian air group in Syria is using Kh-29L air-to-surface missiles to
conduct airstrikes against the ISIL militants, the Russian military
said Sunday.
“A
Kh-29L surface-to-air missile is equipped with a semi-active laser
guidance system. When the launch is conducted, a pilot illuminates a
target with a laser sight. At the same time an aircraft can continue
the flight,” Aerospace Forces Spokesman Colonel Igor Klimov said.
Also,
the Syrian army conducted military operations against the
foreign-backed Takfiri militants in Aleppo province, leaving hundreds
of them killed and injured.
Hundreds
of terrorists were killed or wounded in Aleppo City and its
countryside in the past 24 hours, a military source said.
Elsewhere,
at least 28 militant fighters of the ISIL terrorist group were killed
during clashes with the Kurdish forces in the Northeastern Syrian
province of Hasaka.
“The
YPG forces besieged the ISIL militants near Mount Abdulaziz and
killed dozens of terrorists and destroyed several vehicles,” a
spokesman for the YPG Media Center told ARA News.
Also,
gunmen from the Jeish al-Fath coalition of extremist groups are
pulling out their forces from Idlib and other towns in Northwestern
Syria.
The
radical group started moving towards the Turkish border on Saturday
after having experienced “the efficiency of the Russian aerospace
forces’ strikes,” the As-Safir Arabic-language daily reported.
The
coalition is led by al-Nusra terrorist group, the Syrian branch of
al-Qaeda, which is sponsored by Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar. The
group seized the Idlib province this spring.
The
report said field commanders fear at any moment the attack of Syrian
forces supported by Russian warplanes on the key town of Jisr
al-Shugour, on the Lattakia-Aleppo highway.

Vox Populi Evo video reports on the Russian campaign in Syria
Dear
friends,
I
am happy to share with you the video reports of my brother in arms
from Vox Populi Evo (VPE). Great stuff which I hope you will
appreciate. Today, a report about the Syrian Army’s ground
offensive and drone footage of the Russian airstrikes on Daesh
targets. I hope to be able to make such video reports by VPE a
regular feature of this blog.

NATO To Send Troops To Protect ISIS From Russia!
For the first time ever I find myself disagreeing with Ray McGovern. There is a whole world's difference between Russian actions carried out under international law and at the invitation of a sovereign government and the illegal actions of an imperial super power. The videos shot by the Russians are part of recording and being upfront with everything they do. This has to be contrasted with the U.S. bombing which has been secret - you wouldn't know what they had done. Turns out nothing much. This us anything but a Eussian invasion.
CrossTalk: Targeting All Terrorists
An
expanding strategy and upping the ante – Russia is increasing its
campaign against terrorist groups in Syria, while protecting the
legitimate government in Damascus. Official Washington continues to
struggle to find a response, other than expressing its fury.
Being
angry at Russia is not a foreign policy.
