Eric
Draitser and Mark Sleboda appear together with Don de Bar in some of
the best, up-to-date commentary on Russia’s campaign in Syria, the
American reactions and the geopolitics of the situation.
One
of the big take-aways of this conversation was just how much Russia
has achieved with a small contingent and with one-tenth of the
expenditure of the United States. Russia has been able, not only to
test its high-tech weaponry but send a clear message to Washington
which is in as much a sense of shock as when the Soviet Union
launched its first Sputnik.
It
seems that the United States is making a transition to a position
where they are giving overt support to al-Qaeda-affliliated
jihadists, something suggested openly by David Petraeus a short time
ago.
While
Russia’s bombing has been (up-to-now) precise and aimed at
avoiding the civilian population and targets such as mosques the US
has managed to bomb a hospital in Afghanistan, bomb electricity
infrastructure in Syria and carry out airdrops to terrrorist groups
in Northern Syria.
The
Empire is revealing itself to all but the most blind.
Russia
in Syria, US Geopolitical Countermoves, and the Reality of the Deep
State
Eric
Draitser of StopImperialism.org appears on CPR Sunday (October 18,
2015) with security analyst Mark Sleboda and journalist/broadcaster
Don DeBar. Eric, Mark and Don discuss the war in Syria: shifting
propaganda, US intentions, Russia's moves, and the international
significance of Moscow's mission. They also examine how the US is
responding to the changing situation in the Middle East and Central
Asia, including Obama's announcement that US troops will remain in
Afghanistan. The conversation also touches on the nature of the deep
state, what it actually looks like, and how it functions. All this
and much more in this far-reaching conversation.
