October heat on the way for the southern states mid to late week this
coming week but before we continue to write about this heat check out
the average temperatures so far for October (11 days in) for our main
Capitals.
Melbourne
27.1c, average 19.6 (7.5c+ above normal)
Adelaide
29.2c, average 21.3c (7.9c+ above normal)
Canberra
25.9c, average 19.2c (6.7c above normal)
Sydney
26.6c, average 22.2c (4.4c+ above normal)
Hobart
22.5c, average 16.9c (5.6c+ above normal)
Brisbane
28.3c, average 25.3c (3.0c+ above normal)
Perth
27.4c, average 22.4c (5.0c+ above normal)
These
averages so far for October are running at record levels for most of
these Cities and with more warm weather to come for southern and
south eastern Australia the next 10 days it will only help to
maintain these high averages.
Hot
air will push down from the inland WA down towards south eastern WA
and into South Australia, central Australia, Victoria, inland NSW,
western Qld and Tasmania.
Temperatures
are expected to climb close to 40c over inland regions of SA, and
33-38c range in Victoria, western NSW, western Qld. Tasmania
especially southern parts like Hobart may see it nudge near 30c once
again by Thursday, Adelaide high 30's, Melbourne 33 to 36c range and
near the 30c mark in the ACT.
A
cold front will push through on Friday for the south east and
temporarily cool things a little for next week but the signs are more
heat will follow 8-9 days time for southern OZ so "HOTOBER"
is expected to continue.
Also
with the hot weather once again fire conditions start to become
dangerous again especially if winds pick up which is a fair to good
chance with Fridays cold front and we will continue to keep a close
eye on this change during the week.

Latest EC/Euro model temps at 850hPa levels and anything in red
represents temperatures close to 40c.
