Devastation in Langtang

Nepal earthquake 'Worst affected' village of Langtang

BBC

Emergency workers in Nepal continue to face challenges after the devastating earthquake.

Their priority is to reach the country's remote, mountainous villages, feared to have been wiped off the map.

To let you know what is involved in getting aid into these villages, here are some comments from Kevin Hester

"After having just walked around these places I am acutely aware of hard it will be to access and assist these people. The primary means of transport is by foot and you can't believe how difficult it will be accessing these remote villages"

We go up and we go down, when we are lucky there is a wire suspension bridge to lessen the clim

This was a disaster we watched where one of the donkeys fell, got a leg through the wire mesh on the side of the bridge. Caused a traffic jam on the bridge.— at Khumbu Valley, Nepal.
