Pentagon Report: US 'Created' ISIL as Tool Against Assad
As
the self-proclaimed Islamic State terrorist group continues to gain
ground in the Middle East, a newly released Defense Intelligence
report shows that the US was fully aware of the dangerous
consequences of its involvement in the Syrian Civil War. By arming
“moderate” rebels, Washington knew it might then create a group
of Salafist extremists

By
January of 2014, weapons had already been secretly flowing from the
Pentagon to Syria’s moderate opposition forces for months. These
included small arms and anti-tank rockets. The supply had been
approved by the US Congress behind closed doors, after lawmakers
expressed confidence that arms stockpiles were not being transferred
to extremists. This certainty was renewed in February of this year,
when the US began shipping additional weapons to moderate forces,
including pickup trucks, mortars and additional small arms.
"The
goal for the train and equip program is to build the capabilities of
the moderate Syrian fighters to defend the Syrian people," Cmdr.
Elissa Smith, a Pentagon spokeswoman, said in a statement..

The
US government had no way of knowing that those arms supplies would,
in fact, aid the extremist Islamic State, which rose from the
wreckage of the wars in Syria and Iraq. Washington had no way of
predicting that Islamic State fighters would get their hands on the
massive weapons stockpile left in Ramadi, Iraq, where "a half
dozen US tanks were abandoned, a similar number of artillery pieces,
a large number of armored personnel carriers, and about 100 wheeled
vehicles – like Humvees," according to Pentagon spokesman Col.
Steve Warren.
But
according to new documents from the Defense Intelligence Agency,
obtained by Judicial Watch, the United States knew all too well that
arming moderates would actually result in the arming of extremists,
but looked the other way in the interest of undermining the Assad
regime.
For
starters, the documents show that the Pentagon was fully aware of
al-Qaeda’s key placement within the Syrian opposition.
"AQI
supported the Syrian opposition from the beginning, both
ideologically and through the media."

The
report then shows that the Pentagon was briefed on the rise of the
Islamic State.
"If
the situation unravels there is the possibility of establishing a
declared or undeclared Salafist principality in eastern Syria (Hasaka
and Der Zor), and this is exactly what the supporting powers to the
opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime," reads
the DIA report, dated August of 2012.
The
documents also point out the opposition’s refuge in the chaos of
the Iraqi borderlands.
"The
opposition forces will try to use the Iraqi territory as a safe haven
for its forces taking advantage of the sympathy of the Iraqi border
population, meanwhile trying to recruit fighters and train them on
the Iraqi side…" the report reads.
The
documents also make mention of the possible collusion between various
terrorist groups in the region.
"ISIL
could also declare an Islamic State through its union with other
terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria, which will create grave
danger in regards to unifying Iraq and the protection of its
territory."
Yet,
even with these predictions, the United States government went ahead
in arming the so-called moderate factions. Whether this was a gamble
on the part of US intelligence, or a show of solidarity with allies
who have knowingly funded the Islamic State – like Saudi Arabia,
Kuwait, and Qatar – is impossible to say.
ALERT -- Media Ignores Report Showing Pentagon Created ISIS

May, 2015
The
seven page Defense Intelligence Agency document revealing the roots
of ISIS has been systematically ignored by the corporate media.
The
DIA report admits “the West, Gulf countries, and Turkey support(ed)
the opposition” in Syria, namely al-Qaeda in Iraq, the precursor to
ISIS.
Instead,
it has given credence to an article in the ISIS magazine Dabiq that
states First Lady Michelle Obama would be worth
$40 on the terror group’s slave market.
The
article was allegedly penned by jihadi bride Umm Sumayyah
al-Muhajirah, said to be an ISIS recruiter of young women.
“I
swear by Allah, O you who feign to be knowledgeable and shout with
falsehood in every gathering, surely the slave markets will be
established against the will of the politically ‘correct’!”
writes al-Muhajirah.
“And
who knows, maybe Michelle Obama’s price won’t even exceed a third
of a dīnār, and a third of a dīnār is too much for her!”
Pentagon
Predicted Rise of ISIS
It
stated this was “exactly what the supporting powers to the
opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime, which is
considered the strategic depth of the Shia expansion.”
As
noted above, the “supporting powers” are the West, led by the
United States, and the Gulf Emirates and Turkey.
The
United States knew the “opposition” was dominated by jihadist
elements it repeatedly described as “moderate” and would
ultimately coalesce into what is now called the Islamic State.
Moreover,
the Pentagon report accurately describes the fall of both Mosul and
Ramadi in Iraq to ISIS.
“Given
that the fall of Mosul and Ramadi too were ‘natural and foreseeable
consequences’, given as well the severely questionable ways in
which each city fell and the fact that although these outcomes were
predictable the US-coalition still continued the policies that were
known to lead to them, the US and her allies must therefore be taken
to have intended these outcomes as well, either directly or
indirectly,” writes Steve
Chovanec.
Given this, and the fact that the US-coalition continuously aided the sectarian Syrian opposition knowing full well that this would then lead to an “Islamic State”, the consequence of which was the predictable fall of Mosul and Ramadi, coupled with the unbelievable manner in which both fell, it would be wise to consider the numerous Iraqi politicians claims very seriously, and to seriously question whether or not the fall of these cities really does have a more believable, albeit much more sinister, explanation behind them.
Infowars
has argued from the outset that both al-Qaeda and ISIS are controlled
assets of western intelligence designed specifically to sow
destruction and chaos in the Middle East and also provide a pretext
for a continuation and expansion of the war on terror.
The
Pentagon report, dutifully ignored by the corporate propaganda media,
provides more evidence of this fact.
The
Michelle Obama as jihadi sex slave story is merely another outrageous
and sensationalistic propaganda piece among countless propaganda
pieces designed to produce outrage and thus build consensus for more
direct military intervention in the Middle East, primarily in Syria
where the Bashar al-Assad regime continues to remain in power despite
the effort of the US, the Gulf Emirates and Turkey.
