Fearmongering

Partially as a self-criticism, I am sharing this because this man DOES have a point about people far away from Japan getting meladramatic about typhoons hitting Fukushima.

We had a storm coming through here a day or so ago, with 100 mph, which sounds much worse than it was, except for for a few people that were directly affected.

What he overlooks is that these storms, worldwide are getting more intense (even if recent Japanese experience might seem to prove this wrong), and there is a real danger of natural disasters affecting the structural integrity of buildings at Fukushima Daiichi.

If things do turn out to be worse than they seem, over the next few horus,  I'll eat my hat

Western Freak Out Over Typhoon Man-Yi and Fukushima

It is not the end of the world and Typhoon Man-Yi will not make things anymore worse than it already is at Fukushima.
