Deadlock: Obama, Congress play chicken in debt deadline countdown
The
U.S. administration is in deadlock with Congress over raising the
debt ceiling, with just five days left to strike a deal and avoid a
catastrophic default. The Republicans want the borrowing limit
extended by six weeks, but President Obama is calling for a long-term
solution.
