Pompeo cancels meeting with Merkel to fly out to secret destination

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo cancels a meeting with Merkel at a moment's noticed and flies off to a secret location which turns out to be Iraq.

Are we just to take things at face value.

Does the scenario that is laid out below by Hal Turner have any validity? It may just reveal not the truth but US intentions.

As tensions with Iran reach a boiling point and Washington looks ready to walk away from trade talks with China, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo apparently wanted to make sure the US's European 'allies' know their place.

According to Bloomberg, Pompeo scrapped plans for a Tuesday meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, citing unspecified "pressing issues."

"Unfortunately, we must reschedule the Berlin meetings due to pressing issues. We look forward to rescheduling this important set of meetings. The Secretary looks forward to being in Berlin soon," according to a statement from the State Department that was relayed to the American embassy.

Merkel issued a brief statement saying the joint appearance had been cancelled because of the "cancellation by the US side."

Pompeo was in the region to attend talks in Finland, where he warned China and Russia against pursuing "aggressive" actions in the Arctic, while resisting a diplomatic push by other countries in the region to take steps to curb climate change. He also met with his Russian counterpart, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. 

Those speculating about the reason for the cancellation have a veritable buffet of US gripes to choose from. These include: Germany’s decision to balk at banning Huawei from its 5G network, US criticisms of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, and Trump’s persistent NATO bashing, which has largely focused on Germany's not spending enough on defense.

Juergen Hardt, a lawmaker in Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union, insisted that Pompeo's cancellation wasn't a snub.

Though he added that "it’s a pity that this meeting isn’t taking place."

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo who has been in Finland the past few days and had flown to Germany for a meeting with Angela Merkel, has suddenly cancelled that meeting and is now being moved to an undisclosed location due to a "pressing" issue.

Sources are telling me privately that there is either a severe (sovereign) danger to Pompeo, OR . . . .

The US and its allies may be planning some type of pre-emptive action which will see strikes upon another nation, and there are concerns that elements from such nation would immediately strike back at US leadership.

The press pool traveling with Pompeo has not been told where they are going next, and have been warned they may not be able to report the destination until after they leave.

It is looking like after this "undisclosed" destination, Pompeo is returning for urgent meetings in London.  

HAL TURNER ANALYSIS

Folks, all of this is utterly unprecedented.  Something of enormous magnitude is happening and it is not going to be good when we find out about it.

The possibilities include:

1) Iran resumes nuclear enrichment (today)

2) Iran announces they are already a nuclear-armed power (this week)

3) The US, UK, and Israel refuse to accept any of this and launch a full scale attack on Iran, opening what will likely become WW3.

 In the meantime, we have the Neo-Con whack-job John Bolton, whispering in the President's ear, and the rest of the cabal around the White House, insulating Trump from crucial facts . . . . the end result being the Deep State Agenda we all hoped to stop, is back in full control of our government.

If that's the case, then there is no peaceful solution to this Deep State problem, and the matter might have to be settled by the American people using other means.

There are situation room meetings right now at the White House.

Pompeo was in Germany about to meet Merkel, but has moved to meet urgently with an allied country - the greatest of urgency.

It is not about his personal safety, more about not disclosing the ally or what is going on at this time.

The Trump administration continues to hold the Iranian regime accountable for activities that threaten the region’s stability and harm the Iranian people. This includes denying Iran any pathway to a nuclear weapon. As part of the administration’s unprecedented maximum pressure campaign to address the full range of Iran’s destructive activities, Secretary Pompeo has today tightened restrictions on the regime’s nuclear program.

Starting May 4, assistance to expand Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant beyond the existing reactor unit could be sanctionable. In addition, activities to transfer enriched uranium out of Iran in exchange for natural uranium could be sanctionable. Iran must stop all proliferation-sensitive activities, including uranium enrichment, and we will not accept actions that support the continuation of such enrichment. We will also no longer permit the storage for Iran of heavy water it has produced in excess of current limits; any such heavy water must no longer be available to Iran in any fashion.

Additionally, Secretary Pompeo today took steps to permit the continuation of projects that help restrict Iran’s ability to reconstitute its past nuclear weapons program. Our policy preserves oversight of Iran’s civil nuclear program, reduces proliferation risks, constrains Iran’s ability to shorten its “breakout time” to a nuclear weapon, and prevents the regime from reconstituting sites for proliferation-sensitive purposes. We reserve the right to revoke or modify our policy covering these nonproliferation activities at any time if Iran violates its nuclear obligations or commitments or we conclude that such projects no longer provide value in constraining Iranian nuclear activities. Secretary Pompeo continues to believe that Iran must declare to the IAEA a full account of the prior military dimensions of its nuclear program, and verifiably abandon such work in perpetuity. Additionally, he reiterates his call that Iran must stop enrichment and never pursue plutonium reprocessing.

I was just given this from a well-placed, Senior Intelligence official:

You know what is up if you follow the middle east and Iran/Israel. Israel did not just give up on Gaza, there is a bigger war and threat than Palestinian Authority right now. The choke hold that the US put on Iran in the past several weeks, has caused Iran to choose to make that nuclear dash to the finish line. Israel knows that now. Israel is ready to strike at the Iranian nuclear effort and we are privy to that. Meaning, if the US cannot back Israel down from attacking Iran, we better send all fighting capabilities to the region to protect US interests!   Iran and Israel are playing chess and the next move is checkmate.  Some suggest Iran will detonate a nuke and announce their god given right to destroy Israel and tie up the middle east for ransom. In any event, Iran is also churning out uranium above all red lines, Israel will act.

Folks, this is it, all hell is going to be unleashed unless all efforts are successful.

Iran is moving Short-range ballistic missiles by boat in the Persian Gulf and even on RIVERS in neighboring Iraq!   All being moved simultaneously; lots of action throughout the region!  US Central Command spokesperson Capt. Bill Urban said they had seen "indications that Iranian and Iranian proxy forces were making preparations to possibly attack US forces in the region." It's not clear if the Iran could launch the missiles from the boats or if they are transporting them to be used by Iranian forces on land.

The Pentagon currently believes Iran's actions could put US and coalition forces at risk in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar. US military and intelligence officials are monitoring the movement of the Iranian missiles around the clock but have yet to see a pullback.
