“Russia will continue helping Syria to prevent another Libya scenario”

Russia has once again expressed its support for Syrian government forces fighting against foreign-backed terrorists in the country.

The top Russian diplomat made the remarks in a joint press conference with his Sudanese and south Sudanese counterparts in Moscow. Regarding recent media reports on Russian military activities in Syria, Lavrov said Russia has long had a military presence in the country and that Russian flights have been supplying Syria with both military and humanitarian assistance. He also denounced certain countries for using terrorist groups to uproot what they deem as undesirable governments.
