Help
to rebuild Nepal's schools
I would like to get behind this particular appeal to rebuild the school's of Nepal.
There are so many needs at the moment after the devastating earthquakes - first and foremost for shelter, food and medicine for people that have lost everything.
However, rebuilding schools - a place for the children of Nepal is important.
As a New Zealander this holds special significance because our own Sir Edmund Hillary, the first to climb Mt Everest in 1953 devoted his own life to building schools and helping the Sherpa People.
He founded the Himalaya Trust, who are also raising money to rebuild schools in their area of operation.
Wanda Vivequin is known to me from her time in New Zealand before moving to Alberta, Canada.
She has a 15-year history of leading trekking groups to Nepal and of building a library in one of the villages.
Wanda can introduce herself and her appeal through the following. Here are very recent interviews on Canadian TV and radio

Education
Restoration (ER) Nepal Project
Thank you for supporting our Education Restoration (ER) Nepal Project.
An
estimated one million children in Nepal will not have access to
education following the earthquakes that hit Nepal on April 25 and
May 12. We are collecting donations to repair, rebuild and
restore community schools in rural regions affected by the
earthquake. According to UNICEF, restoration
of educational facilities is
a critical part of rebuilding after a natural disaster.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 over the next three months. We will partner with, and be advised by, Dr. Shanta Dixit, President of the Rato Bangala Foundation in Nepal on where best to direct our efforts. Rato Bangala Foundation is a Nepal-based organisation that in 2012 received the UNESCO-Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers. Your donation will help pay for the repair, rebuilding and restoration of schools to ensure the educational needs of children are taken care of, and teachers can continue their good work in Nepal in a safe space.
