25 July. /ITAR-TASS/. Under Slavyansk, who for three months had
fierce fighting Ukrainian troops began preparing for shale gas. This
is reported by the locals, the site of the "Novorossia".
According
to them, "civilians under the protection of the Ukrainian
military are preparing for installation of drilling rigs. Imported
equipment".
It
is noted that "the Ukrainian security forces are taking the
planned area of shale gas in the ring."
In
Slavyansk, which is located in the centre of Yuzovka shale gas play,
during the last years repeatedly held a protest against plans of its
development.
Residents
of Slavyansk were preparing to hold a referendum on this issue.
Environmentalists are concerned about the effects used in the production of shale gas
technology of hydraulic fracturing. Public activists consider that
used this technology, the chemicals have a high degree of toxicity,
resulting risk would be not only ground water, and atmosphere.
Experts
note that the issue of disposal of harmful substances in the course
of development of shale gas has not been solved in any country in the
