The Earth today

Having found the wonderful program Climate Reanalyzer I have been able to look at what is happening on this planet, 3-hourly as well with daily summaries.

Seeing the map of the northern hemisphere temperature anomalies kept me awake much of the night.

If it is cold right now in North America have a look at what is happening at the North Pole - that is where the greatest temperature anomalies are - about 12C higher than average

This is reflected when looking at the sea temperature anomalies.

Look at the warm spots in both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

And the Jet Stream:

Not to forget about the Southern Hemisphere.  

Parts of Antarctica are way warmer than normal; parts are colder.
