Kiev, Ukraine's Independence Square, also known as Euromaidan, is still occupied by people demanding closer integration with Europe and the resignation of President Viktor Yanukovich and his government.

Molotov cocktails, rubber bullets, and men in masks can be seen on either side of the tent camps and barricades that divide the city's central square from the outside world.

But who are the 'peaceful' demonstrators occupying Maidan?

Ukraine Unrest: Rioters renew offensive in Kiev, truce broken


Rioters in Kiev have clashed with security forces, pushing them back from Independence Square. Police report that over 20 officers have been injured in sniper fire as they struggle to control the 3,000-strong crowd.
