Q:
Realistically...what is the chance that a meltdown/ uncontrolled
fission reaction will occur?
A:
Right now.... about 100%. That's what Helen Caldicott and I will be
discussing on this Sunday's LIFEBOAT HOUR.
I
am anticipating that this program will elicit not only attacks on the
messengers, but probably, also cyber attacks.
I
will try my best to provide the link on Monday.
Fukushima
- an open-air, uncontrolled fission reaction
This
would apply only if an open-air, uncontrolled fission reaction
occurred from one of the spent fuel pools, 18 meters above ground at
buildings 3&4. Now let's be clear, Building 4 contains the
equivalent of 14,000 Hiroshima bomb. The pool at 3 is the same size
and it contains MOX fuel. If one goes, it is a given that the other
will go because that much radiation will make all of Norther Japan
uninhabitable within hours or days. There are more than 40 reactors
in Northern Japan. More than 80 in all of Japan. Then there are the
reactors in Korea, Kamchatka and Eastern China.

This
tells us more than any other story today. Nothing else is important
now. Fukushima is now looming as an immediate cause of death for all
life. The situation is deteriorating rapidly, the water cannot be
contained and is leaking faster....[ ]
Cesium-134/137
level jumped up 10~1,000 times much as average on the top of reactor3

According
to Tepco, Cs-134/137 levels jumped up in the air on the W-S-W side of
the top of reactor3 building.
Cs-134
reading was 1,200 Bq/m3, Cs-137 reading was 2,600 Bq/m3. Usually it’s
1~100 Bq/m3 order.
The
sampling date was 8/22/2013.
In
the press conference of 8/23/2013, Tepco also commented the
dust monitoring alarm
went off in front of the seismic isolation building, which may have
something to do with the debris removal on the top of reactor3.
However,
Tepco has been removing the debris on the top of reactor 3 since
months ago.
Tepco
is aware of the unusual trend of the radiation level of reactor3 and
the surrounding area but they haven’t announced the reason.
Steam
was also observed on the top of reactor3 for several times but the
reason is not verified yet.
