Dutchsinse

I have always had a reserved respect for Durchsinse, not least for his hard work an perseverance. Besides he is often right in his predictions.

However, in this video he takes a denialist position when it comes to anthropogenic climate change – something I was vaguely aware of.

Here he is saying that the planet is going through an overall cooling, which, in the face of the science and the evidence, is preposterous.

I think Dutchsinse is completely distorting things.

He shows the maps showing the huge temperature abnormalities in the Arctic, but does not seem to see it.

He does not mention the warmer than usual temps in the Arctic which is why the Jet Stream migrates south. The polar ice has stopped growing and there is even melt in Greenland and the Bering Strait. He ignores those areas that have warmer than usual temps, in the N hemisphere, not to mention Australia and S America.

He might be right about how long this might stay around - but his analysis is plain wrong

He even goes on to say the ice in the Arctic is getting thicker (which flies in the face of the evidence), and claims it is in retreat in the Antarctic! (sic)

Anyone remember the icebreakers stuck in ice in the Antarctic over Christmas?

It seems to be a case of saying what you like, despite the evidence, so long as you take a contrary position.

I think, overall, I would take my bets on Paul Beckwith being somewhat closer to the true state of affairs
